A warm & friendly welcome awaits you

The Moordown Conservative Club is tucked away down Balfour Road, which is little more than a lane opposite St John’s Church on the Wimborne Road.

We pride ourselves on our friendly atmosphere and warm welcome. We have two bars and a large function room which is available to hire for dances, christenings, birthdays and other special occasions. We also have a snooker room with two full sized tables, two dart boards, a pool table and skittle alley that can also be booked to hire. Visitors are offered easy parking, with our own car park on Balfour Road, just passed the club.

Members enjoy a regular and varied programme of events and activities to suit all ages, including Bingo, Crib & Whist, Coach Trips, Quiz Nights, Cabaret Nights, Race Nights, Family Nights and weekly Meat & Tote Draws. We are proud to support the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning and other local charities. We are also pleased to host the regular Moordown Traders Association meetings, of course.

We have been a Conservative Club since 1881, and apart from being the oldest in the area we are in fact older than the Association of Conservative Clubs itself, which wasn’t founded until 1894.

We are actively looking for new members to join our club. Membership forms are available from the bar. A £15 joining fee and £15 membership fee applies. An Affiliation Card is available for £2.50 which will enable you to visit all Conservative Clubs around the country.

If you are new to the area and don’t know an existing Member to sponsor or second you, don’t worry. We offer a temporary membership for up to 3 months, to allow you to use the club and get to know people, so you will get to know people prepared to act as your sponsors. This temporary membership costs £5 and is deducted from your total membership fee on joining.

We also offer temporary memberships to family visiting the area on holiday. For just £2 for a week temporary members will be able to take full advantage of all that Moordown Conservative Club has to offer.

Sports Teams

Currently the club has teams in the local Skittles, Darts and Snooker leagues. We are hoping to start a team in the Pool league and to introduce Tournament evenings.

We hope this gives you some insight into our club, and that you will visit soon to find out more.
