Mark Avery, Woody’s Gardening Services

Mark Avery at Woody’s Gardening Services offers all types of gardening services from mowing lawns, pruning shrubs, cutting hedges, sweeping up leaves to jet washing patios.

Mark recently retired from working with Royal Mail following a career spanning over 40 years, starting off as a rural postman serving many small villages in Henley-on-Thames and finally working as a senior manager at their depot in Poole. He was able to relocate to Bournemouth with Royal Mail and settled in Moordown with his wife and two young children, where he has lived for the last 30 years.

Mark took the opportunity of early retirement to pursue his love of gardening and his ambition of starting his own gardening business. Always a keen gardener, Mark had an allotment at Slades Farm for a number of years, but his passion lies in creating a colourful, relaxing garden space in which to sit and enjoy. He is keen to plant flowers and shrubs that attract wildlife to your garden such as butterflies and bees. He is also keen on recycling garden waste to produce environmentally friendly compost to enrich your garden, and he gardens without the use of pesticides or any harmful chemicals.

Mark’s ethos is in offering a friendly, caring and reliable service to his customers. In 2016 he joined the Lions Club of Bournemouth and helps the club raise money for local charitable events, and with community service projects.
